ASUS REALTEK AUDIO DRIVER FRONT PANEL JACK DETECTION SKIN
Sorry in advance if this should go to the AV forum. Realteks HD Audio Manager has a Disable Front Panel Jack Detection option which gives this functionality, but Realteks skin for Dell motherboards, which my. Has anyone discovered a way to accomplish what I want? I have a 2 year old, and placing any front panel connections will just end in her breaking a port/connector/entire freaking machine. However, this new board won't allow me to do that. Yet, there is no sound coming through the headphones and my desktop speakers keep playing sound as well. In preferences, I have 'HD Audio Front Panel' and 'Mute rear output device, when front headphone plugged in' selected. After the auto detection saw the connection, it would ask what to do with the blue port, and I would tell it to turn the Blue Line Out into a headphone port. I have an ASUS Z370-E Gaming Motherboard so the Realtek HD Audio Manager works with ASUS SupremeFX. Then I would place the speakers on green "speaker out", the microphone on the red "mic out", and a pair of headphones on the blue "line out". With numerous other motherboards with realtek chipsets, I've been able to enable Jack deteciton. Onboard Audio Chipset is Realtek ALC898 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC ("Supports : Jack-detection, Multi-streaming, Front Panel Jack-retasking") You'll also want to poke around the control panel for the onboard Realtek ALC850 the A8V-E Deluxe uses. But Realtek onboard audio chipsets are so common that I thought maybe someone would know. If I could find out which registry key is changed when someone else checks the "Disable Front Panel Jack Detection" box in their Realtek Audio Manager, I could edit that same key on my computer, and achieve the same functionality.OK, this is a very specific question, and I'm not sure where to look for the answer, or even what forum to put it in. So I was thinking: Perhaps this Dell skin is only cosmetic. Realtek's HD Audio Manager has a "Disable Front Panel Jack Detection" option which gives this functionality, but Realtek's skin for Dell motherboards, which my computer has, does not include this option.

I've found registry keys that can be edited for Windows 7 and 8 which give this functionality, but none for Windows 10. If you plug your speakers into the Line In or Microphone slots, you will not get any sound from your computer. I wish to have both speakers and headphones to output at the same time, and I used to do this with my old Gigabyte board.

This has no 'disable front pannel jack detection' option. Right-click the Windows ‘Start’ menu and click 'Control Panel'. Therefore I'd like to control this feature manually and force the sound to come out of my headphones all the time. It comes with Asus Realtek HD Audio Manager. Because the jack is broken, however, my computer only detects that my headphones are plugged in when I push or tilt the plug, and that's the only time I can get sound out of them. The headphones are normally supposed to turn on when they're plugged in. I have a headphone jack with a broken sensor.
